"I refused to take no for an answer"
I don't know how to even begin to introduce this next woman. She is one of my favorites. The things she accomplished seem mystical, they were so incredible. Bessie Coleman was the first woman in the United State to obtain her pilot's license. The first woman, and a woman of African and Native American descent. Her life was far from easy, but she made the largest obstacles fall away. The United States would not let a woman of color train to be a pilot but she didn't stop. She gained her Fédération Aéronautique Internationale (F.A.I.; international pilot's license) on June 15, 1921, becoming the first woman of color to hold a pilot's license in the world. She would return to the United States and perform for desegregated crowds that entered through the same entrance. She was smart. She was beautiful. She was a maverick.
"The air is the only place free from prejudice. If I can create the minimum of my plans and desires, there shall be no regrets."
This ring is bold, powerful and beautiful. If you see Bessie's smile, it looks like this, sheer joy, keep going, don't stop. They make me smile to make. You can pick your favorite stone, these are made to order, please allow 1-2 weeks for delivery.
